I hate to do a review because the secrete is getting out. This place is awesome. Great breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Can't go wrong with this place. My fav is the totally unhealthy Mac Daddy.....A pile of homemade Mac and cheese covered with their bbq pulled pork it's epic.

We went here for the first time, at least 2 out of 3 of us. Pretty much everything is made on site. They have us a sampler of potato salad, cole slaw, baked beans and pillows pork. Each one was great. We had pulled pork sandwich and a Ruben (on raisin bread that is double wide). All were great and plenty of food for the price. There is a parking lot out back but across the street. We hear its busy on Sunday but can't wait to go. Owner run. Great menu. You can get all of their food all the time (like breakfast at lunch time).

Everything is excellent and homemade. Just a jewel in the quad cities. Diners Drive ins and Dives needs to visit this place. The Mac daddy is the signature dish and should be...homemade mac and cheese on top of smoky pulled pork with homemade smoked baked beans and the creamiest cole slaw. Amaze balls!

Nice little place with great breakfast food served all day. Friendly and fast service. Just wish I could get pancakes instead of the biscuts and gravy but they were good.

My husband & I had passed by this little unassuming diner several times. After looking it up on Yelp we thought it was worth a try...was it EVER!!! Super friendly staff and owner. The best bbq we've had in a long time. Everything is homemade and you can definitely tell. I had a burger that was out of this world and my husband had the pulled pork sandwich that was huge! The owner knew we were new to the restaurant so brought us a sample plate of bbq pulled pork, potato salad, baked beans, and cole slaw! Who does that?? All of it was incredibly yummy and I'm not even a fan of potato salad! Loved that the staff knew everyone that came in. Very homey atmosphere. We will be back again and again!!

One of my favorite places to go! The food is fantastic, home-made taste and large servings! The staff treats everyone like family! Whenever I am in there, at least once a week, they must be good because there are non-stop people coming in for take-out and to pick-up for large catering events (which I know they do on-site too)! Just great place and people!

This place makes me want to come to East Moline. Come hungry. The portions are huge. Staff is friendly. Exactly how you want a diner to be. My family and I like to start our Sundays here.

Love this place. The people treat you like family. The food is all home made. Never frozen ground beef, real fries they cut, out of the world breakfasts. No matter what you order your meal will cost around $12. so we don't eat there as much as we would want.

I was so happy when I opened the menu and saw an item titled the "Dande Reuben". Despite the quirky hours that made coming difficult on a few occasions, persisting turned out to be worth it. The Dande Reuben on raisen lived up to the Belgian Village Inn comparison and dare I say that the corned beef and sauerkraut were better here. The Barbecue is also notable, in what I believe compares to the Kansas City style, and was up to expectation as the best i have had from a local joint. The service was friendly and interior clean and tastefully decorated to the country theme. All in all i plan to return soon, especially to try the reputable breakfast.

I've had some good bbq in my life time but by far Smokeys Bbq blows any bbq out of the water and fresh cut fries are to die for. The sevice is very good they make you feel like family and take really good care of you. If I could I would give Smokeys Country Diner a 10 stars..A must try!!

I had been wanting to try this for a while but I am a Jim's superfan and it took a while to get me here. It was actually pretty disappointing. We both had the burnt ends. You get two sides plus the entree for $10.99. The sauce was actually pretty good, reminded me of Jim's but not nearly as good. If you didn't have access to Jim's, this would be a decent subsitituea but when Jim's is available, it doesn't cut it. The burnt ends were basically just re-heated in a pan and covered in the sauce...both of our burnt ends were cold in the centers. The macaroni and cheese was blah and clearly re-heated too, even though the waitress said it was supposed to be really good. The coleslaw was really tasty. Overall, just disappointing for a $30+ meal, should have just gone to Jim's. The waitress was very nice, bringing out crayons and a coloring book for our 3-year old, who had broccoli cheese soup, which she enjoyed. She also got a sucker before leaving, so if it was up to her, she would have given the place five stars.

Had the worst customer service experience of my life. I'm 58 years old, have lived in ten states and visited all fifty and have experienced my share of customer service failures. Most of the time they're recognized and corrected on the spot with an apology, which is all I expect. Sometimes they're recognized with a comp, which is nice, but not expected, unless the food was inedible. First time visit last week, and I was hopeful due to the high Yelp ratings, but I kept expectations in check. The place has a country décor and I was expecting friendly staff. Not to be. Service was efficient but without a smile. Did not feel welcomed. And when the food came, it was the same--just average--2 or 3 stars. Although this place looks cute and homey, the food and service is low-end diner--think Waffle House. The real fun began when I went to pay. Here's the background to the story. Page 3 of the menu has a breakfast item for $9.99. The picture has three plates of food. One plate shows 3 eggs, bacon, and hash browns. The second plate has biscuits and gravy and the third has toast. My wife wanted just what was on the first plate, so that's what I ordered. I pointed to the picture and said she wants that plate (eggs, bacon, and hashbrowns). She does not want the biscuits and gravy or the toast. Mind you, I'm ordering a $9.99 dish but asking them to hold two items. I asked if the corned beef hash was homemade or canned. Told it was canned. I said no thanks and the waitress said, "But we sell a lot of it," which confirmed what I suspected about the culinary expertise of both the cook and the clientele. After eating a decidedly average breakfast, we were presented the check. I showed my wife and we both had a snicker at the a la carte pricing, which I assumed would be corrected upon request. She was charged 6.99 for the bacon and two eggs, 1.69 for the third egg, and 1.85 for hash browns--a total of $10.53. When I went to pay, I explained to the lady that we ordered the $9.99 breakfast and asked them to hold the biscuits and toast. Big owner guy steps up and emphatically states that the price is correct, that we ordered a la carte. I said no, I ordered the menu item and asked them to hold two items that we would not be eating (saving the owner some money!). He said that is an a la carte order and I should have known that. The entire time I'm calm and composed, and I say fine, I'll pay whatever you want me to pay, but I'm not a happy customer and won't return. He continues to escalate, loudly telling me that he doesn't need my business and that my booth will be filled by someone else. I tell him that arrogance won't keep him in business very long, to which he approached me with his chest poked out like he's wanting a confrontation and he said he's been in business 40 years and repeated he doesn't need my business because I should know how to read a menu. At that I was incredulous. Lousy customer service is one thing, being physically aggressive and insulting customers is absolutely uncalled for. I told him to stop trying to man up on me and I asked if he was calling me stupid, and he says no, but then points his finger to his head and said smart people know how to read a menu. I was absolutely dumbfounded. I've never encountered such arrogance and rudeness. I spent 25 years in customer service and am pretty tolerant of service deficiencies, as I don't want to be a difficult customer. In my career, I've seen many rude customers, but I've never, as a customer, seen such an offensive display of disrespect towards a paying customer.

We just had a lunch bordering on a religious experience at Smokey's Country Diner in East Moline. Seriously the best Mac and cheese, the best pulled pork, and the best baked beans I've ever had. their homemade BBQ sauce is perfect and the service is exceptional. It's a little tiny hole in the wall diner but the food is phenomenal. 5 stars for sure. I wish I'd found this place sooner.

I saw all the great reviews. I talked to some friends who are faithful diners here. I went... And I probably won't go back. The food, the service, the whole experience.. it was just "okay." I didn't love it and I hardly liked it. It was edible, but I wasn't melting in my chair. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing? I dunno. It was a strange place. Decor was weird. Plastic table cloths.. it was weird.
